Please note this blog was written on September 15, 2009 and was the week of the Middle Tennessee GIS Local User meeting held in Lebanon, Tennessee.
I thought I would recount my week.
I thought I would recount my week.
Monday: Chris and Lilly were sick and had to go to the doctor. Chris had a sinus infection and Lilly just had allergies or a cold. I was so tired I picked up take out from Pizza Hut. I didn't sleep well the night before. I have to give a presentation on Wednesday and have spent a lot of time working on it over the weekend.
Tuesday: Chris and Lilly are still at home sick. Lizzie and I are wishing they will be getting better soon. Lilly seems better but is still really whiny. I have to finish my power point and the kids were driving me crazy. They needed mommy time but mommy has to finish her project before she can devote my time to them. Also, sixty-six years ago today my great uncle Pfc. John Papineau went ashore on Orange Beach on Peleliu, one of the bloodiest battles of the Pacific Theater of WWII.
Wednesday: D-Day+1 on Peleliu and my presentation about mapping Peleliu. I thought I was ready and the room was packed! I was really nervous but I managed to finish the presentation. It was a success! I ended up celebrating the day at Liquid Smoke with Tommy, Cody, Randy, and Barbara. It was so good to see Barbara. she has been through so much lately. Lori has sworn off smoking and she didn't join since she just became a quitter two days earlier. It pays to quit.
Thursday: Back to the MTNGIC conference and sitting in very hard chairs. Lower Rutherford County is flooding and Mike and Sharon are off to save the day. Good for them. I am hanging out with Lori at the conference and having a blast! Gerry and Susan were there and they sure do make me laugh!. Everyone is still talking about my presentation. I am so amazed! Class tonight was long and challenging. It seems the entire history department knows about the presentation.
Friday: Crazy day five of a seven day week. I am still stoked about the presentation! I hope I can carry the enthusiasm into my research and writing of my thesis. Only time will tell but now I think I need to celebrate this awesome week!!!!!!
