Snow Dance Update

Last week we snow danced our hearts out and snow did show but it was only in the form of a flurries in the Murfreesboro area briefly the next morning. While our neighbors to the south and west got a good dusting. And in true Tennessee weather fashion, it was a little warmer but breezy by the weekend. There is a good saying about Tennessee weather, "If you don't like the weather, wait about 24 hours and it will change."

So, Thursday once the clouds cleared out it was gorgeous and I went around hunting dead people with my interns and an archivist. By Sunday, the clouds were rolling back in and the rain set in late Monday for the next several days. As the temperature continued to drop throughout Tuesday, the possibility of another chance for snow crept back into the forecast. Chris and Lilly were home sick today and while I was working it was bone chilling cold outside. Sometime before noon it started snowing big, fat and fluffy snow flakes! Luckily for us, it did not stick to the ground, schools remained open and no one ran to Krogers to buy milk and bread in a panic.

The snow was awesome but it has been raining and cold for several days now and I hate the cold. I am starting to wonder if we might have over done our snow dance and we are stuck in a pattern where it will now snow every Wednesday. I hope this is not the case but I am unaware if the snow dance is only good for 24 hours or if it has longer lasting effects once it is has been danced.

Check back next Wednesday and I will let you know if it has snowed again.
