Snow Dance

The girls are excited that the weatherman has said the "S" word. No it is not the "S" word that most adults use to show excitement or other emotions but the "S" word is for frozen precipitation or a.k.a. "Snow". So, we did the "Snow Dance" to ensure some white stuff will fall out of the sky this evening.

What is the "Snow Dance" you ask? The "Snow Dance" is a dance kids and some parents do to help the white stuff fall from the sky. My research is limited but it may go back to ancient times or as far back as to when kids in Tennessee have been hoping for snow days in order to get out school. I would suspect the latter is the real reason why we Snow Dance but hey this is my blog so just humor me.

Well, here is how we "Snow Dance" at the Hall House: first, put on your pajamas backwards and dance around the house all crazy. Second after dancing all crazy, take one ice cube and flush it down the toilet. If you have more than one kid and toilet repeat the ice cube flushing for all the toilets and the kids in the house. This is kind of like a sacrifice, I guess. The third and final step is to place a spoon under your pillow, pray for snow and wait. I am not sure what the spoon is supposed to do but the waiting is the hardest part for the little people. Chris has already sent one kid back to bed tonight because she was trying to jinx the "Snow Dance" by getting up out of bed and looking for snow. If they don't stay in bed, I tell them the "Snow Dance" will not work. See parents, it is another way to get them to bed and make them stay there!

So, try the "Snow Dance" at your house sometime and see what happens!

P.S.

Chris just looked outside and there may be a few flakes failing. I will update the blog tomorrow and let you know if the "Snow Dance" worked!
